Born in Albany, NY and raised by very nice parents in the suburban wonderland of Parsippany, NJ, I have become ridiculously over-educated.  Aside from a B.A. in Asian Studies from Seton Hall University (South Orange, NJ), I also managed to acquire a Master of Divinity degree and a Ph.D. in North American Religion and Culture from Drew University (Madison, NJ).

During my young adult years, I worked as a secretary and learned that bosses know absolutely nothing and the secretary needs to know everything.  However, the bulk of my career has been spent as a religious educator in five United Methodist churches and, for awhile, as an adjunct professor in interdisciplinary studies and history. Talk about a recipe for low income and a sense of desperation! Actually, it hasn't been all bad. The people I work with and have taught have made it all worthwhile.

Eventually my interest in religion, history and writing gave birth in 2011 to the book Saint Maggie. When I did author talks, people asked me what was going to happen next for the "boarding house family." I had no idea I had started a series, but decided to go for it and wrote Walk by Faith as a follow up.

In my personal life, I have an amazing significant other named Dan. Since he came into my life I have become part of a family that includes his loving, accepting daughter, a fun son-in-law, and two grandsons. Do I need to tell you that one grandson is an absolute genius and the other has enough charm either to grow up to be President, an academy award-winning actor, or Elmer Gantry?  Probably not, so I'll stop right here.

I also have a sister, Diane, who actually lives out that "love your neighbor" thing and is crazy fun to boot. Her partner, Sarah (the world's most astute guest house manager) has become my other sister. I am so blessed to have them in my life!

Given my history, it's not surprising that my main character, Maggie creates a "fictive family" from the diverse people around her. When people say "write about what you know," it is good advice.  Sometimes elements from your own life slip in and you don't even realize it at first ("fictive families," for instance). Another example is how my experience working in churches led to the romantic comedy, HEART SOUL & ROCK 'N' ROLL. Of all my characters, Lindsay Mitchell's life and experience is closest to my own.

Thank you for your interest in my books. If you like them, great! Please tell a friend and leave review on Amazon, Goodreads, or anywhere you please. I appreciate your readership and support! I hope my stories give you some hope and maybe a smile.
